Privacy policy

Luna Lending Inc. · Last updated: July 2, 2026

1. Who we are

Luna Lending Inc. (“Luna Lending,” “we,” or “us”) is a licensed mortgage broker, NMLS ID #2032089. Our business is helping people apply for and obtain home loans, which means we collect sensitive financial information from you and work with the lenders and service providers who help fund your loan.

This policy covers our website at lunalending.com, our loan inquiry and application process, and the calls, texts, and emails we send you. Because we are a financial institution, how we handle your information is also governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and, where they apply, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and California privacy law.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details — your name, address, email, and phone number(s).
  • The financial information a mortgage requires — Social Security number, date of birth, income and employment, assets and debts, bank and account information, and details about the property involved.
  • Anything you tell us in a call, text, or email.

Information we collect automatically

When you use our website, we collect your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view, using cookies and similar technologies.

Information from other sources

To evaluate your loan, we receive reports and verifications from credit bureaus, lenders, employers, financial institutions, and fraud-prevention services.

3. Why we use it

  • To answer your questions and to process, underwrite, broker, and service your loan.
  • To confirm your identity and protect against fraud.
  • To keep in touch about your application — status updates, documents we need, and scheduling — by phone, text, and email.
  • To operate and improve our website.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We share your information to get your loan done and to run our business — we do not sell it. Specifically:

  • Lenders and investors, so your application can be underwritten and funded, along with credit bureaus and verification services as part of that process.
  • Service providers who work on our behalf, such as our loan origination system, our customer relationship management (CRM) software, and the platforms that deliver our calls, texts, and emails. They may use your information only to do work for us and are required to keep it confidential.
  • Government agencies or others when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, our company, or the public.
  • A successor, if our business is ever merged with or acquired by another company, subject to this policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial information for anyone’s marketing purposes.

5. Calls, texts, and your consent

We contact clients about their loans, and you stay in control of how.

Phone calls

When you give us your phone number — on an inquiry, on your application, or directly to a loan officer — you agree to let us call you about your inquiry and your loan. Ask any Luna Lending representative to stop calling and we will.

Text messages (SMS)

If you opt in, we may text you about your application, such as status updates, document requests, and scheduling. How often we text depends on where your loan stands. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help.

We do not sell or share your mobile phone number, or your consent to receive our calls or texts, with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing. Agreeing to calls or texts is never a condition of getting a loan or any other service from us.

Email

We may email you about your application and our services. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time, though we may still send messages about an active application.

6. GLBA financial privacy notice

As a financial institution, we are required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act to explain how we treat your nonpublic personal information — the financial details described in Section 2:

  • We share it with lenders, investors, and service providers as permitted by law to process and service the loan you requested. This is the sharing that has to happen to actually get you financed.
  • We do not disclose it to unrelated companies for their own marketing.
  • We limit access to employees and service providers who need it, and we protect it with physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards.

7. Your privacy rights

California residents. You may ask what personal information we have collected about you, ask us to delete or correct it, and opt out of any sale or sharing of it — though, as noted above, we do not sell or share your personal information. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. Note that much of what we collect as a mortgage broker is regulated under the GLBA and FCRA and may be exempt from some of these requirements.

Everyone. Wherever you live, you can contact us to ask what information we hold, correct something inaccurate, or opt out of marketing communications.

8. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings; turning some off may affect how the site works.

9. How we protect your information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

10. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to serve you and to meet our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations — which, for mortgage records, can be several years — and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

11. Children

Our website and services are meant for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

12. Links to other sites

Our website may link to sites we don’t operate. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so we encourage you to read their policies.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and post the current version here. We’ll communicate material changes as the law requires.
